Overview

Before you can accept payments from customers, you need to connect a Stripe account to Scoopify. Stripe handles all payment processing, payouts to your bank, and keeps everything secure.

This tutorial walks you through the entire setup — from creating your Stripe account to getting fully verified and ready to accept payments. We will also cover how to upgrade your Scoopify plan once Stripe is connected.

Stripe verification sometimes requires more than one round. After your initial submission, Stripe may ask you to come back and provide additional information (like your full SSN). This is normal — just click Complete Setup on the payment processing page to finish up.

From your dashboard, go to Settings in the sidebar, then click Payment Processing. You will see some information about how Stripe verification works and a Setup Payments button to get started.

Create Your Stripe Account

Clicking Setup Payments will redirect you to Stripe's onboarding flow. Start by entering your email address and creating a password for your Stripe account.

If you already have a Stripe account, you can use that email to log in instead.

Verify Your Phone Number

Stripe will ask you to verify your identity with two-factor authentication. Enter your phone number and submit the verification code sent via text. Stripe will use this phone number for future login security.

Select Your Business Type

Next, select your business type. For most people starting out, this will be Individual. If you have already filed your LLC or corporation paperwork, select the appropriate option instead.

If you select Individual, your first and last name will appear on payment pages instead of your business name. To have your business name show up, make sure to register your business as an LLC and select that option here.

Enter Your Personal Information

Fill in your legal name, date of birth, home address, phone number, and Social Security Number. Stripe requires this information to verify your identity and comply with financial regulations.

Make sure all information is accurate — incorrect details will delay your verification.

Select Your Industry

For the industry selection, don't pick from the popular options at the top. Instead, scroll down to Personal Services and select Landscaping Services. This is the best fit for pet waste removal businesses.

Website & Business Description

Enter your business website URL and a brief description of what your business does. For the description, something like "We are a pet waste removal company. We service customers each week with additional services available" works great.

Don't have a website? No problem — Scoopify gives you a free business landing page that you can use here. Your landing page URL is scoopify.co/[your-business-slug]. You can find it under Settings → Landing Page in your dashboard.

Connect Your Bank Account

Stripe will prompt you to connect your bank account for payouts. This is where your customer payments will be deposited. Log in through Stripe's bank linking service, select your accounts, and choose which one to use for payouts.

Set Your Payout Schedule

Choose how you want to receive your payouts. You can set them to happen automatically on a specific day each week, or handle them manually whenever you want. Most business owners prefer automatic weekly payouts.

Statement Descriptors

Set your statement descriptor — this is what customers will see on their bank statement when you charge their card. Enter your business name or a recognizable abbreviation.

You will also set customer support information (phone number and address) that appears on invoices. You can toggle the phone number off if you prefer to only show the support address.

Review & Submit

Stripe will show you optional screens for Stripe Climate (carbon removal contributions) and Stripe Tax (automated tax management). These are both optional — skip them if you are not interested.

Finally, you will see a confirmation page with all of your information. Review everything carefully and click Agree & Submit.

Handling Verification Status

After submitting, Stripe will redirect you back to Scoopify. You may see a "Payments Restricted" status — this is normal. Stripe sometimes needs additional information before fully approving your account.

Just click Complete Setup to go back to Stripe and provide anything they need (like your full SSN). You may need to do this once or twice before getting fully verified.
